Obverse: Within a beaded border round the rim, bareheaded bust of the young Queen Wilhelmina, right, flanked by ornaments. Radiant crown above, beaded arc below. Legend below: “WILHELMINA KONINGIN DER NEDERLANDEN”.

Reverse: Within a beaded border round the rim, a shield with the Dutch Lion of Nassau supported by two flying cherubs holding sprigs of laurel and joined round their waists by a garland of roses suspended in an arc below the shield. Between the shield and the garland in an arc: “1898”. Above a radiant crown with rays extending behind the design to the bottom.

Notes: Queen Wilhelmina was crowned on 6 December 1898 six days after her 18th birthday.
