Blank. The first illustrated medal is stamped with the makers mark: “F&S” and the Birmingham silver hallmark for 1927-8. The second medal is stamped: "925 RMP" and the third (gilt) is stamped with the S.A. Mint mark for sterling silver.

The medal made at the Royal Mint, Pretoria issued inside a blue case lined with while silk and blue velvet. The: "RMP" monogram on the inside of the lid.
The size of the medal varies.
The Farmer’s Weekly is South Africa’s longest running magazine. Awards continue to be presented annually but this medal is no longer used.
