Gold Reef City Mint is a privately owned South African mint. Founded in 1986, it has been authorised by the SA Mint to produce certain South African coins under supervision. It is part of an entertainment park near Johannesburg with gold mining as the theme. These tokens were struck as a souvenir for visitors.
