Notes: Gold Reef City Mint is a privately owned South African mint. Founded in 1986, it has been authorised by the SA Mint to produce certain South African coins under supervision. It is part of an entertainment park near Johannesburg with gold mining as the theme. These tokens were struck as a souvenir for visitors.

Gold Reef City Mint confirms that they only made this 7-coin partial set and omitted the other denominations. They made an earlier full set with animals instead of birds (Laidlaw 0653).
