Obverse: To the right of centre, head of Chirau, front, extending almost to the rim. . Signed: "TW" lower left. Legend on left: "SENATOR CHIEF CHIRAU".

Reverse: A stylized tree with branches rising diagonally from the trunk. On the trunk: "1976" downwards at the bottom and a pattern of triangle above. On the left branches downwards: "(lines) / DEPUTY / MINISTERS / F. MLINGO / A.T. MUNGATE / Z.M. BFANAH / (triangles)" and on the left branches upwards with the text upside down: "(lines) / SENATOR CHIEFS / KAYISA NDIWENI / MANGWENDE / CHARUMBIA / CHIRAU / MINISTERS / (lines)".

Notes: Comes in a cardboard frame labeled: " RHODESIAN HISTORY / MEDALLION / Volume Four" mounted inside an oblong transparent plastic holder and presented in a cardboard box with a certificate which states that 2,000 silver medals and 2,000 bronze medals were issued.

Chief Jeremiah Chirau (1924–1985) was the president of Rhodesias Council of Chiefs between 1973 until his death. He was elected into the Senate in 1970 and was a signatory to the Internal Settlement. His ZUPO party contested the resulting elections but failed to win any seats and was subsequently disbanded.
