Shamrock cut-out engraved across in a shallow arc: “FOR VALOUR”. Legend engraved on the encircling band: “61ST. 2ND. DUBLIN.YEOMANRY.1901” with an ornament at the foot.

Engraved in script across the reverse of the shamrock: “W.J. Dalrymple”. Legend engraved on the encircling band: “FROM THEIR FELLOW COUNTRYMEN”. Stamped at the foot: “9CT”.

This medal has been made into a brooch.
William Jones Dalrymple is on the QSA medal roll for the 61st. Squadron Imperial yeomanry as 11255 Trooper W. Dalrymple. He received clasps for Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal and Rhodesia.
61st (South Irish Horse (Dublin)) Company of volunteers was raised on 7 March 1900 at Dublin and served with the 17th Battalion Imperial Yeomanry.
